Raphael Carty, Director
Mr. Raphael Carty is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Management & Organizations at New York University's Stern School of Business. Raphael has spent his career largely in the tech space as a senior leader commercializing innovative technology in companies ranging from startups to the Fortune 500. Raphael started in product management at HP in Silicon Valley and has served as global VP Marketing of SaaS disruptor DealerTrack (NASDAQ:TRAK), CMO and VP Product of cybersecurity pioneer CertCo, Director of Marketing for Networking of 3D graphics category creator Silicon Graphics, and Co-Founder/CEO of smart building startup Callida Energy. Raphael built an online consumer business at Chase Card Services and led the digital transformation of customer management (marketing, communications, and service for Chase credit cardholders).
Raphael’s areas of interest include strategy, sustainability/climate action, innovation, disruptive technology, marketing, branding, GTM strategy, entrepreneurship, and social impact. Raphael has taught the following courses in the NYU Stern School of Business MBA program: Disruption, Entrepreneurship, and Social Impact; and Tech Solutions: Leading Innovation. And in the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year, Raphael also introduced and began teaching Leading Innovation to Address Climate Change in the MBA program. Earlier in his career, Raphael taught in the Harvard Business School Marketing Department and conducted field research on the role of industry standards in product strategy.
Raphael holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in Engineering and Applied Sciences/Computer Science from Harvard College.
