John Tripp, Director

Mr. John Tripp is a Managing Director, Founding Member, and the Chief Technology Officer of Brevet Capital. He specializes in complex systems architecture, structured systems development, new IT product development, and critical forensic technology compliance/audit services. Mr. Tripp is a leading industry expert in IT best practices for both legacy and distributive systems, having pioneered qualitative and quantitative technology analysis and implementation standards for companies like Goldman Sachs, Burroughs, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Capital One over the last four decades.

John began his career as a computer programmer for the State of Michigan at a time when few in business or government understood information technology systems or terminology. In Michigan, he designed, implemented, and led one of the first technical support staff units to exist for any state government. John’s extensive work for fortune 50 companies in the financial services, information technology, and professional services industries began when he joined Realtime Systems, Inc. as the lead architect for the development of operation system and compiler software. When Realtime was acquired by Burroughs, John was tagged to lead Burroughs’ New York regional office.

After leaving Burroughs, John became a senior systems architect for Chase Manhattan Bank. While at Chase, he became a leading proponent of structured system development. John left Chase to become the Director of Training and Research Development for Structured Technologies Inc., consulting to over 100 clients including all top financial services companies. In 1984, he joined Goldman Sachs as a Vice President in the Information Technology Division. At Goldman Sachs, John was both the Manager and Chief Architect for the implementation of the several key systems. In 1997, John founded Tripp Technology Group, a technology management consulting organization. In 2000, he joined the Brevet team.
