Gordon Swartz, Director
Dr. Gordon S. Swartz is currently the Dean of the Ageno School of Business at Golden Gate University, directly overseeing all GGU undergraduate and graduate business education programs. Under his leadership, the Ageno School of Business is driving new program development at the cutting edge of business transformations worldwide to educate the next generation of business leaders.
Gordon holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Harvard University, a High Technology MBA from Northeastern University, and bachelor's degrees in nuclear engineering and political science from MIT. His professional background includes business school teaching, research and administration, and strategy consulting and development of high-growth organizations. Early in his academic career, Gordon served as the deputy dean of the MBA program at the London Business School, where he was also an assistant professor of marketing. More recently, Gordon was the associate dean of executive education at Georgetown University, where he led the design and launch of the school's Global Executive MBA programs which included three world-class graduate degree programs: the Global EMBA program (ranked #12 worldwide by Business Week); the Georgetown-ESADE Global EMBA program; and the Executive Master’s in Leadership. Gordon also led the marketing and development of all open enrollment and custom, non-degree executive courses at GU.
Besides his frequent speaker engagements at elite business schools across the nation, Gordon has also served as an adjunct professor in Northwestern University's master's degree program in predictive analytics. His articles and case studies have been published in distinguished academic journals, including the Journal of Service Research, Sloan Management Review, Marketing Management, and the Harvard Business Review.
Prior to his work in academia, Gordon worked as a management consultant, providing clients across four continents in the financial services, high tech, and manufacturing sectors (British Aerospace, Bell Canada, BT, Esso/Exxon, Ericsson, Gazprom, Goldman Sachs, Hewlett-Packard, Kennametal, SeaLand Services, Smith Kline-Beecham, Sun Microsystems, 3M and Xerox) with a wide range of go-to-market strategy and implementation and market analysis services. As vice president of MarketBridge, Inc., he routinely led major marketing, sales strategy and transformation efforts for Fortune Global 500 companies.
Gordon serves on the board of directors of Angoss Software (Toronto: ANC), a world leader in predictive analytics; he also serves on the advisory boards of Sequilab, a genomics research web services company, and EMCG, a channel-strategy consulting firm with offices in London, Munich and New York.
