Designing for Climate Resilience

Thursday, November 4, 2021

After being hit hard by intense storms such as Hurricanes Sandy and Ida, there is little debate that New York City is already feeling the extreme weather effects of climate change. With such events projected to worsen - and become more numerous - in the coming years, it is critical that NYC buildings and infrastructure be able to withstand these types of weather events.

Join Urban Green Council to learn the latest science on climate change as it relates to New York City and how it’s being used to inform resiliency planning. An array of speakers will highlight how NYC is leading by example through the enactment of New York City Climate Resiliency Design Guidelines for city-funded capital projects. Speakers will also present examples of private building designers who have begun putting these guidelines to use as well.
