Urban Green Council Event.

On April 18, the New York City Council passed the most ambitious building emissions legislation enacted by any city in the world. The new law places buildings on a path to meet the city’s goal to reduce overall carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050. Buildings represent nearly 70 percent of those emissions.

This event will take a closer look at key elements of the law and tackle critical questions. Policy, labor, and building experts will explore the details of the legislation, including what it means for NYC buildings and the regulatory pieces that will be developed in the coming years.
